How We Refurbish, Test and Grade Every Laptop Before It Ships

“Refurbished” is one of the most abused words in retail. Anyone can wipe a hard drive and call it refurbished. So here’s exactly what happens to every machine before it earns a listing on our store.

Step 1: Sourcing

We buy ex-business fleet machines — ThinkPads, EliteBooks, Latitudes and Dells from Australian and global corporate refreshes. These are machines serviced on schedule their entire working life, retired after their 2–3 year lease cycle.

Step 2: Inspection & diagnostics

Every unit is opened and checked: motherboard, RAM slots, storage, display, keyboard, trackpad, ports, speakers, webcam, Wi-Fi and battery health. We run full hardware diagnostics — not a boot-and-pray check.

Step 3: Grading

We grade physical condition honestly:

  • A grade — near-mint, minimal signs of use
  • B grade — light wear, fully functional
  • C grade — visible wear, priced accordingly

If a machine doesn’t meet our sellable standard, it gets parted out or recycled — it doesn’t go on the store.

Step 4: Refurbishment

  • Fresh SSD and RAM upgrades where needed
  • Genuine Windows 11 Pro installed and activated
  • Driver updates and stability testing
  • Battery health tested and reported on the listing

Step 5: The warranty

Every laptop ships with a 6-month Australian warranty covering parts and labour. If something fails within that window, we fix it or replace it — no runaround.

Why this matters to you

A refurbished laptop is only as good as the process behind it. Our listings show real grades, real specs and real battery health — and if you’re not sure about a machine, ask us before you order. Full terms on the warranty page.
