Smart Electronix – Return, Refund & Warranty Policy

Applies to: All refurbished devices sold by Smart Electronix


1. Overview

At Smart Electronix, we sell high‑quality refurbished devices. We aim for 100% customer satisfaction. This policy explains your rights and obligations for returns, refunds, replacements, and repairs under NSW and Australian Consumer Law (ACL).


2. Your Rights Under NSW & Australian Consumer Law

Under the ACL, all customers are entitled to a consumer guarantee. This means refurbished products must be:

✔ Acceptable quality
✔ Fit for the purpose you asked them to be sold for
✔ As described, and match any sample or demonstration model

If a device fails to meet these guarantees, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund depending on the situation.


3. Returns, Refunds & Exchanges – When They Apply

a) Faulty or Not as Described (Consumer Guarantee Failure)

If your device has a fault, defect, or is not as described, you are entitled to:

• A repair where reasonable
• A replacement if repair is not reasonable
• A refund if the problem cannot be fixed in a reasonable time or it is a major failure

Examples of a major failure:

  • Won’t power on

  • Significant component failure (screen, motherboard, storage)

  • Difference from advertised specifications

No restocking fees apply for genuine faults.


b) Change of Mind Returns (Non‑Fault)

Devices that are not faulty may still be returned within a 14‑day period from the date of purchase if:

• It’s in the same condition as sold
• All original accessories are included
• Original packaging is intact
• A valid receipt or proof of purchase is provided

A restocking fee of up to 10% may be charged for change‑of‑mind returns.

Refunds are issued at the discretion of Smart Electronix under this option.


c) Timeframes

4. Refunds Method & Timing

Refunds may be issued via the original payment method and may take:

3–14 business days for processing
• Longer with third‑party payment providers

We do not refund credit card processing fees.


5. Warranty Policy

All refurbished devices include:

Minimum Warranty:
90 days parts & labour (unless a longer period is specified)

Within the warranty period, Smart Electronix will, at its discretion:

• Repair the device
• Replace the device
• Provide a refund if repair/replacement isn’t reasonable

Warranty does not cover:

✘ Accidental damage (drops, liquid ingress)
✘ Misuse or unauthorised repairs
✘ Normal wear and tear


6. How to Make a Return/Claim

To start the process:

  1. Contact us at [email/phone/Telegram/contact page]

  2. Provide:

    • Proof of purchase (receipt or invoice)

    • Order number

    • Description of fault or reason for return

    • Photos/videos if available

We may ask you to return the item for inspection before final resolution.


7. Devices with Software or Accounts

Returned products must be:

✔ Factory reset
✔ Free of personal accounts (e.g., iCloud / Google accounts)
✔ Not blocked or disabled due to security locks

Devices returned with locks may delay the process.


8. Delivery & Return Costs

• If the product is faulty or not as described, we cover return shipping costs.
• If you return for a change of mind, you may be responsible for return shipping.


9. Privacy & Data Security

Smart Electronix is not responsible for data left on returned devices.
Customers should back up and erase data before returning.
