A number of more conventional features of a computer were absent – such a DVD drive slots and the FireWire ports that were traditional with the Apple iMac brand and new features appeared – such as the Thunderbolt port which allows for the passage of both visual and audio signal

The iMac Intel Aluminum version featured a 21.5 inch screen 1920×1080 LED-backlit 16:9 widescreen IPS display.

The iMac Intel Aluminum had Quad Core 2.9 GHz Intel “Core i5 processor with four independent processor cores on a single chip. Its graphics processor was the NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M graphics processor with 1 GB of dedicated GDDR5 memory.
Memory & Architecture
The device was built with an 8 MB on-chip level 3 cache with an 8 GB of 1600 MHz PC3-12800 DDR3 SDRAM. Its design was centered on a 64-Bit architecture.
Upgradability
Although the a1418 iMac Intel Aluminum came with 8 GB of RAM it could be upgraded up to 16 GB of RAM.
